Open Mic Nite

I’ve been writing songs for over three decades now exploring many different musical spells and vibes. Writing on acoustic guitar has been a pretty consistent method, of course, though it is a challenge after you’ve been up and down the neck a few million times. I like digging into the guitar and extracting arrangements, melodies and counter- melodies. Arrangements should always include some kind of fireworks in the transitions, like songs within songs. Then there’s the prosody of the lyrics and music combined which with hopefully the song will say something. The goal is always the next song is the best one yet. I try and never repeat myself while exploring the grand buffet of music that has inspired me. Here’s a playlist of some acoustic based songs I wrote over the years.
